In Molly's work, she prepares canvas using traditional methods used by masters such as Rembrandt and John Singer Sargent. She prepares Belgium Herringbone linen from Claessens with 3 layers of a toned ground, which she makes by hand from linseed oil and chalk. The benefits of this ground is that it creates a flexible durable surface which can be rolled and re-stretched with ease.
